The new drug was discovered in 2010 by the Swiss-based pharmaceutical company, Novartis.
The drug, Viagra, has same active ingredient as sildenafil: Viagra. But the drug has an improved formulation that some of the same benefits, according to Novartis, but is designed so that it's much easier to inject, less irritating and more effective than the older medication.
The company estimates that new formulation has the possibility of increasing drug's popularity among men with erectile dysfunction.
And while men have been able to get Viagra since 2002, the company hopes that a new version will take off faster.
